Change Makers in Higher Education

As part of a larger DHET, Royal Academy of Engineering and UCDP nationally funded project to consider strategies for innovative Engineering curriculum (IEC), Change Makers in Engineering Education is designed by Prof Lelanie Smith (Aerospace Engineer , teacher and coach and Mr Jaco Fourie (Systemic Transformation Coach) to bring staff in Educating future engineers together to collectively and productively deal with the human complexities and tensions that we face in our roles as academics. The program was developed in 2022, and through multiple pilots with the national IEC team consisting of engineers and Engineering Education researchers was refined and first rolled out in July 2023. Since then the program has been facilitated in 10 different groups, 5 national groups, 3 Engineering Departments, 1 Administrative Team and 1 Economic Management Department.
